Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista - Diano d'Alba
Costruita nel XVIII Secolo in stile barocco piemontese, la Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista si trova sulla cima della collina di Diano d'Alba.
Questa chiesa, risalente agli anni compresi tra il 1763 ed il 1770, venne edificata su progetto dell’architetto Carlo Francesco Rangone, allievo della scuola del Juvarra di cui si nota l'influenza.
L’interno della Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista è ad un'unica ampia navata ed ha decorazioni, fregi e capitelli in oro.
Al suo interno è possibile ammirare otto dipinti degli autori Antonio Tempesta, con l'estensione della Sindone, Beaumont,con il battesimo di Gesù, e Claret.
L'edificio è posto proprio di fronte ai resti del castello medievale, dal cui belvedere si gode si una vista incomparabile che spazia a 360 gradi sulle colline del Moscato e del Barbaresco, sulla valle del Tanaro e si spinge fino al Monviso.

Built in the XVIIIth Century in Piedmontese Baroque style, the Church of San Giovanni Battista is located on the top of the hill of Diano d'Alba.
This church, dating back to the years between 1763 and 1770, was built on a project made by the architect Carlo Francesco Rangone, a pupil of the Juvarra school whose influence is noted here.
The interior of the Church of San Giovanni Battista has a single wide nave and has decorations, friezes and capitals in gold.
Inside you can admire eight paintings by the authors Antonio Tempesta, with the extension of the Holy Shroud, Beaumont, with the baptism of Jesus, and Claret.
The building is located just right in front of the remains of the medieval castle, from whose Belvedere you can enjoy an incomparable view that spans 360 degrees on the Moscato and Barbaresco hills, on the Tanaro valley and goes up to Monviso.
