Venne fondato dai Padri Somaschi nel XVI secolo e la sua struttura è integrata con quella della Chiesa di Madonna del Popolo.
Restaurato da poco rispettandone le caratteristiche originali, il monastero è diventato la location di un hotel a 4 stelle, una dimora d'epoca che seppure offrendo servizi moderni riprende negli stili degli arredi e delle rifiniture motivi d'epoche passate.
