Monesiglio abd its alleys
Located in the extreme south-east of the Province of Cuneo, in the Alta Langa land, Monesiglio is a town with ancient origins.
Its first inhabitants were, in the 2nd century BC, the Ligurian Stazielli who, after a strenuous opposition to the Roman invaders, around 172 BC had to surrender their weapons and submit.
However, this brings them several advantages from the point of view of trade and communication routes.
The village is located on the hills that separate the Bormida valley from the Uzzone valley and it is dominated by the massive Caldera castle with its crenellated tower.
Monesiglio is a small pristine pearl, still unknown to the mass tourism.
Around the castle, narrow silent alleys unfold, recalling the ancient medieval past of the city.
