Vinadio, paese della Valle Stura di Demonte da sempre luogo di villeggiatura, è noto soprattutto per il suo Forte, capolavoro di architettura militare tra i più importanti dell'arco alpino.


A valle della costruzione, prima del corso del torrente Stura, nel 2014 è stato realizzato il Lago del Forte, un piccolo invaso artificiale.


Questo laghetto ha una profondità massima di 1,40 metri ed una superficie di 5000 mq ed è alimentato dalle acque sorgive del Vallone di Neraissa.

Situato in una posizione incantevole, ai piedi del Monte Corso del Cavallo, nelle sue acque si specchia l'imponenete sagoma del forte che pare quasi abbracciarlo.


Nella stagione estiva il Lago del Forte diventa balneabile e, grazie alla presenza di un bar, servizi, campo da beach volley, campo da calcio e zona picnic, diventa una meta ideale sia per i turisti che per i cuneesi costretti a trascorrere le loro vacanze a casa.

Da Luglio 2019 su un lato del lago è stata collocata la scultura "Untitled – Renaissance" di Emmanuele De Ruvo, emergente artista napoletano vincitore del Premio Mastroianni della Regione Piemonte.
Si tratta di un'affascinante opera realizzata in bronzo e rappresentante una parte di un guscio d’uovo in equilibrio sull'acqua.


Con questa scultura l'autore ha voluto simboleggiare un'esistenza che nasce attraverso la rottura di una sottile gabbia che al tempo stesso protegge, ma separa dalla vita esprimendo "il momento di passaggio tra l'atto e l'esperienza".

Un'opera, questa, che per le sue forme arricchisce ancor di più lo scneario alpino.

Fort Lake - Vinadio


Vinadio, a small village in the Stura Valley of Demonte that has always been a holiday resort, is best known for its Fort, one of the most important military architecture masterpieces in the Alps.

Downstream of the construction, before the course of the Stura torrent, in 2014 was created the Fort Lake, a little artificial reservoir.

This pond has a maximum depth of 1.40 meters and an area of ​​5000 square meters and is fed by the spring waters of the Neraissa Valley.

Located in an enchanting position, at the foot of Monte Corso del Cavallo, the imposing shape of the fort is reflected in its waters and seems to embrace it.

In the summer season, the Fort Lake becomes swimmable and, thanks to the presence of a snack-bar, services, beach volleyball court, soccer field and a picnic area, it becomes an ideal destination both for tourists and for Cuneo citizens forced to spend their holidays at home.

From July 2019 the sculpture "Untitled - Renaissance" by Emmanuele De Ruvo, emerging Neapolitan artist winner of the Mastroianni Prize of the Piedmont Region, has been placed on aside of the lake.

It is a fascinating work made of bronze and representing a part of an eggshell that seems balanced on the water.

With this sculpture the author wanted to symbolize an existence that is born through the breaking of a thin cage that at the same time protects, but separates from life by expressing "the moment of passage between the act and the experience".

A work, this, which thanks to its shapes enriches the Alpine scenery even more.
